Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Byeleigh app ("Byeleigh", "the app", "we") handles information when you use it. Byeleigh is designed to be private: it stores information on your device and does not operate its own servers.
Information stored on your device
- Sign-in tokens. When you log in, the authentication tokens issued by your bike manufacturer's login service are stored in your device's secure storage (Apple Keychain) so you don't have to sign in every time. They remain on your device.
- Bike information. Details about bikes on your account (such as name, model, and identifiers) and pairing information are cached locally so the app can reconnect quickly.
- Diagnostic logs. The app can keep a local, technical activity log to help troubleshoot connection issues. It stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
Information sent to third parties
To sign in and manage bikes tied to your account, the app communicates directly with your bike manufacturer's cloud and identity services. When you log in, your credentials are entered on the provider's own hosted login page and are handled by that provider — Byeleigh does not see or store your password. Your use of those services is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
Byeleigh does not send your information to the app's developer or to any analytics, advertising, or tracking service.
Bluetooth
Byeleigh uses Bluetooth solely to discover, connect to, and control your bike. On Android, the operating system may require location permission to allow Bluetooth scanning; Byeleigh does not use, collect, or store your location. On iOS, Byeleigh requests Bluetooth access for the same purpose.
Data we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking.
- No location tracking.
- No contacts, photos, or microphone/camera access.
Data retention and deletion
Because data is stored locally, you can remove it at any time by signing out within the app or by deleting the app, which clears its locally stored data from your device. To delete data held by your bike manufacturer's services, use that provider's own tools or contact them directly.
Children
Byeleigh is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
